The supermarket told me that the ice cream I bought has arrived at nine-thirty. If I’m at home, I should go pick it up as soon as possible. There isn’t enough space in her freezer. Since I had nothing to do, I agreed to go get it. After throwing away the trash and when I was about to ride my electric scooter, an aunt asked me how to use the charging station. It was my first time using it, so I didn’t know how.
I walked about 30 meters with the aunt. I noticed her hands were shaking nervously as I walked, and her phone was shaking too. When we got to the charging station, I saw that the charging adapter was already plugged in and connected. I asked the aunt to scan the QR code using WeChat, and then it prompted for authorization. It seemed like it was for new users. Then she had to agree to some agreements and consent to WeChat payment. It was about 3 yuan for 2 hours and 5 yuan for 4 hours. The aunt chose the four-hour option. I said to pay first and then charge. While operating, the aunt's hands were shaking, and she couldn’t even touch the buttons. Sometimes I would just tap a little. I noticed her head was also shaking, and I couldn’t help but worry that she might suddenly collapse. After payment, we had to select the location again. I thought scanning the QR code for number 15 would automatically activate it, given such an expensive fee. The number of operations was still quite a lot. I told the aunt that pre-charging might be cheaper and suggested she check notifications in the future. The aunt thanked me. When I saw her again, it was a minute later. I was riding my electric scooter, and the aunt waved at me vigorously. I waved back.
For my own electric scooter, charging once costs about 1.363 yuan for electricity. The peak wattage during charging is about 238 watts. Trickle charging is about 10 watts or less; I haven’t recorded this value on my phone. It takes about 8 hours to fully charge a lead-acid battery of 72v20ah.
In some communities, if the property management fee is relatively high, charging is free. For example, in places where the property fee is 3 yuan per square meter. However, the downside is that parking spaces are hard to find. There are actually quite a few electric scooters in the paid parking area now because it’s a decent free bike shed. However, I have a habit of not blocking others from making money, such as not blocking taxi routes (I broke this rule once; I remember feeling ashamed when I had to exit a rental car while riding my electric scooter). I also don’t block cash transport vehicles (which is life-threatening).
