Eat sugarcane

Live streaming magic,
No matter the category, travel, games, or others, when there's no content left, just eat broadcasts. The effect is quite good.
This is the primal desire, and no one can stop it.

In the television era, watching shopping channels, some might think it's silly, paying for cable TV and still wanting to spend more money on buying things.
Years later, some people feel unlucky for not being able to buy or catch up, thinking, "Tomorrow I'll set a time to shop on my phone, don't believe that money can't be spent?"

I haven't eaten sugarcane in a year; the last time was during the New Year, visiting my child's maternal grandfather's house. After dinner, the grandfather, who is from Hubei, took out some sugarcane, but no one ate it, so I chatted with him while we ate sugarcane.

I estimate I haven't eaten it for about ten years. I used to eat it when I was a child.

This time, Meituan wasn't expensive; five pounds were about 8.99. I bought it back, four or five pieces, short ones, wrapped in plastic wrap. The color was purple-black with a bit of white inside.

In the evening, when I had time, I started eating. I asked my family if they wanted some, but I didn't peel it. No one wanted to eat, so I used my teeth to slowly tear the sugarcane skin. I specifically washed the sugarcane, but when I tore the skin with my teeth, small white pieces still fell off. I didn't investigate further; I found it quite laborious to eat a small section, and it felt a bit selfish. This method of eating probably only suited me; the kids found it troublesome and didn't want to eat.

The kids' mom started peeling the skin, originally using a plastic peeler, which was quite laborious. I saw and hurriedly asked her to switch to a fully metal one; the sugarcane skin was still quite hard. It was hard to handle; the kids' mom squatted on the ground with a trash box, waiting for me to finish a section while still peeling. I saw her being careful, so it was slow. I said I would try, and found that indeed, if you don't use force, the sugarcane skin won't come off. If you use too much force, the skin flies off uncontrollably. So I thought, why squat? I shouldn't use the trash can either; I stood up in the kitchen in an open space and started peeling directly, like making knife-cut noodles, peeling vigorously. Some of the skin flew about 1.5 meters away. I tried to keep it from flying too far; the landing point definitely wouldn't be like knife-cut noodles landing in a pot, as that range is too small. My large pot is about 1.5*1.5m, so this speed was indeed fast, and soon the skin was all gone.

I cut a section for the kids, but they still couldn't eat it, especially the second child, who only had loose front teeth and didn't dare to bite down. I thought about it and cut the sugarcane directly into cube sizes, ready to chew. The second child thought it was quite tasty but needed to spit out the pulp. After eating one section, he didn't want any more. Then I came to clean up.

After eating, I also looked at how different countries handle sugarcane skin on Bilibili and checked that the juice yield of sugarcane is 80-90%. That's quite high; I feel my teeth's mechanical efficiency might still be too low. I think my biting force and suction power shouldn't be that low.

In the end, I found a way to measure the juice yield of the sugarcane I ate.
Since I removed the skin, the value should be a bit lower than what I measured.
I measured the total amount of sugarcane before eating, then measured the remaining weight after biting a piece.
After chewing in my mouth, I measured the weight of the pulp I spat out. Then I calculated to get the approximate juice yield.
